Looking for a gift for a loved one?

Here are some ideas for you!

Masculine Grooming

There is a bit of a gap in my opinion of masculine grooming products that are both independently made and eco-friendly. Over the last year or so there has been a growing trend towards a good old-fashioned safety razor (we stock the blades too). We have handmade tins of natural hair clay and wax, plus beard oils.

Did you know that you can get bars of shaving soap? We stock Alter/Native natural shaving bars. These little bars of delight are made here in West Yorkshire and contain no palm-oil whatsoever and are packed in cardboard, not plastic!

Gifting Socks....love or hate?

Well, comfort is paramount these days and socks for me, equal comfort. We have some lovely ethical bamboo socks by Thought clothing and also by BAM. Check both of these companies out for sustainable fashion and loungewear by the way - packaged in paper, not plastic and all of their clothing has an ethical edge.

Local Honey for hayfever?

We've got lovely jars of Stickey's Honey - summer, spring 2020 and soft set. 'Sticky' Chris, really cares about bees and is a fascinating guy to talk to. I regularly get updates of what he's up to and what colour their lastest hive is (apparently it helps the bees find their own home). Were lucky enough to one of his few stockists. Lots of customers swear that local honey helps with their hayfever but I don't know if there is any scientific basis to that argument.

Stuck in a Jam or in a bit of pickle

Lots of our Yorkshire producers usually sell their products a farmers markets but we are lucky enough to stock them in our small shop. We've recently started stocking chutneys and sauces by New Yorkshire Emporium  and Jams, curds and sauces by Blueberry Hill Preserves

Nutty about Nuts

Looking for a snack with a difference? Try the sharing/gift packs of roasted and coated gourmet nuts by New Yorkshire Emporium. These nuts are a mixture of peanuts, red-skinned and pecan nuts with a flavoured coating - maple and bourbon is my favourite! These nuts are packed in biodegradable pouches but we are hoping to do this packaging-free later in the year.

If all else fails you can't go wrong with a bar of chocolate

I am one of those rare individuals who doesn't really like chocolate but I know that most other humans do! We stock large gift-sized bars of chocolate (milk, white, dark and vegan) by ethical fair-trade companies such as Divine, British company Montezuma and Ichoc by Vivani.
